Humble Apologies
I missed my objective with this blog. I am sorry for anybody whose feelings were hurt by the content of this blog. None of the statements were intended to offend and none were the views of the Peace Corps, the US Government, Jamaica, current PCVs in country, host country supervisors, et. al.
I hope that anyone affected by my content forgives my indescretions.
Apologies,
Patrick

I loved the blog and totally "got" the important message...current and future vols are wanting to make a difference in the world by volunteering two years of their life to helping the planet and its inhabitants.
Wasn't the purpose of the blog to help incoming vols make great packing decisions by providing some suggestions of items from home that would help them focus not on "things" they wish they had but rather on the job of contributing to their new community in Jamaica???
I guess I don't understand the politics but fail to see how anything could have been taken as insulting...
Keep the faith and keep focused on the great work you are doing for your kids and community.
I'll miss this blog. Thanks for having a generous spirit and being willing to reach out to the incoming vols.
Yes, it was a extremely helpful blog!! Can you post or e-mail me to see what was offensive (I can't imagine what it was) so I don't repeat it? Apparently there are some sensitive folks out there. Also, could you further assist by letting me know if there is a "standard" bed size? My one luxury item might be some nice sheets, as I'm a bit of a sheet snob.... thanks! jasoncandido@gmail.com - group 79

Patrick, thanks for everything you'd written, said and volunteered to help future PCVs ready for service. Not only has it been a huge help, but it's enabled us to meet and communicate with lots of current volunteers and get to know you guys a bit. Can't wait to thank you in person--14 days!

I thought this blog was helpful. I am surprised that it offended anyone. Thank you to Patrick and Erin for the tips :) I will see you in 9 days. ~*~Peace and Harmony surrounding~*~
Can you not edit out any questionable materials and reload the good parts?
We can get most things we forgot at the local pharmacy, but they're expensive. Your ideas helped quite a lot.
I had bookmarked your page a while ago so I could refer to it when packing for le peace corps... why on earth is it now deleted? How could you have offended anyone with what you had written?? Goodness, some people are sensitive. Any chance you could post again with said "offensive" material omitted? If not, you still have my thanks for a great blog. Cheers!
